WELCOME TO THE RESISTANCE

We fought the machines and we lost. Now, billions of people live in a computer simulation called the Matrix—a digital prison built by the machines to simulate a world that no longer exists. For most, life is a dream they will never wake from. For the lucky few in the last human city, Zion, life is a desperate struggle for survival.

You are the crew of the hovercraft Styx. While other ships focus solely on the defense of Zion, your captain, Shepherd, is driven by a singular, relentless obsession: the liberation of the mind. In the dark tunnels of the real world and the neon streets of the simulation, your directive is absolute.

Whether dodging Sentinels in the ruins of the real world or outrunning Agents in the code, the mission remains the same: find the few who have woken up, break their chains, and bring them into the light.

We Are Soldiers. We Are Shepherds

The Styx is not merely a warship. While the Zion Defense Force's original mandate has shifted toward a siege mentality, the Styx and its crew remain dedicated to the liberation of the mind. Our mandate is to infiltrate the code and reclaim the lost. We will engage the Machines when necessary, but our primary directive is pulling as many "awake" people out of the simulation as possible. We operate in the shadows of the Matrix, knowing we are the only bridge between slavery and freedom.

Somewhere Close to 2226...

The Styx is a collaborative writing "Sim" set in the universe of The Matrix: 7th Iteration. Our plot respects the core themes of the franchise while exploring a world defined by the philosophy of a new generation of Machines. While Sentinel swarms and Agent pursuits will darken our door, the majority of our missions focus on the delicate art of extraction and the psychological war for humanity.

Age Requirement: All writers must be 18 years or older.

Rating: We maintain a (3 | 2 | 3) rating (equivalent to TV-MA/R) for themes of psychological horror, violence, and the visceral reality of the Real World.

“I’m sorry, Captain Shepherd, but the Speaker is in a meeting right now,” the blonde aide said from behind her desk in the foyer of the Speaker’s office. Her slender fingers adjusted a glass box that held a small potted plant illuminated by a square light attached to the top of the box. “I can leave a message for him and let him know that you came by when he’s done.”

“A meeting with Holm?” Shepherd asked, appearing perfectly calm, despite the fact that this situation was a frustration of immense inconvenience to him.

“The Commander,” she said, and before…

Mission: Crossing Styx

Underground, where the light doesn’t reach, morning is hard to distinguish from any other time of day. But in Zion, the last human city in existence, a resident could tell based not only on the clock but on the bustle of adults going to their jobs and children scurrying off to school. The activity of the subterranean enclave was a living thing, and her corridors, bridges, and markets were teaming with bodies.

A tall man with a slender, athletic frame and a quiet bearing stepped out into the hall and closed the door to his dwelling. A flurry of eight-year-olds…
